2. Overview
PDF JOY EDITOR (“the App”) is a document viewer and editor that is designed to work primarily on your device. We do not create user accounts, and the App does not include advertising or analytics SDKs.
3. Information stored on your device
The App may store the following locally on your device: theme and language settings; recently opened files; recently used fonts; favorites and files you save in Results; and signatures, templates, or edited PDFs you create. This information stays on your device unless you choose to share or export it, or you delete it or uninstall the App.
4. Files you open or create
PDFs, images, Office documents, and other files you open, scan, or export are processed on your device for viewing, editing, merging, splitting, compressing, organizing, locking, image conversion, and similar tools. Document files are not uploaded except as described in the cloud conversion section below. Extracted text may be sent when you use Translate, as described below.
5. Permissions
Depending on the feature you use, the App may request storage or files access to find, open, and save documents; camera access to scan pages or take photos; and photos or gallery access to import images or signatures. The App also uses internet access for cloud conversion, translation, font downloads, and sending feedback. You can deny or revoke these permissions in system settings. Some features will not work without them.
6. Cloud conversion
When you convert Word, PowerPoint, or Excel files to PDF, the selected file is uploaded to a conversion server operated by IIO Mate. The server runs Gotenberg, an open-source conversion engine that uses LibreOffice to produce the PDF.
The file is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS) and is used solely to perform the requested conversion. We do not use uploaded files for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose.
Gotenberg processes each request in an isolated temporary workspace. Uploaded files and conversion output are automatically deleted from the conversion server after the conversion is completed and are not retained for longer than necessary to provide the service. We do not maintain a document library or user-file archive on the conversion server.
The conversion server may keep ordinary operational logs, such as time, IP address, and request status. These logs do not include the contents of your files.
Encryption: files are encrypted in transit using HTTPS (TLS). They exist on the conversion server only for the duration of the conversion request and are not stored in a long-term archive.
Do not convert documents you are not comfortable sending over the network.
7. Translation
When you use Translate, the App extracts text from the PDF on your device. The PDF file itself is not uploaded. Only the extracted text is sent so the App can return a translation.
Translation is performed by Google Translate (Google LLC) as the primary service. If that request fails, the App may send the same extracted text to MyMemory, operated by Translated S.r.l., as a fallback.
Those providers process the extracted text according to their own privacy policies, including:

Page images used to preserve layout remain on your device and are not sent to the translation services.
8. Fonts
If you use certain fonts in the editor, the App may download font files from Google Fonts (Google LLC) over HTTPS. Downloaded font files may be cached on your device. Document contents are not sent as part of a font download. Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
9. Scan and text recognition
Document scanning and optical character recognition (OCR) run on your device, including through Google ML Kit on Android and iOS. Scan images and recognized text are not uploaded by the App for those features.
10. Sharing and feedback
When you use the system Share feature, the file is passed to the application or service you select. The selected third party receives the file directly, and its handling of the file is governed by that third party’s privacy policy. IIO Mate does not receive a copy of the shared file through the share sheet.
Send feedback transmits the text you write over HTTPS to FormSubmit, which emails it to cbedp4109@gmail.com. The App does not open your mail app, and the message is not stored on IIO Mate servers. FormSubmit’s privacy policy: https://formsubmit.co/privacy.pdf
11. Data retention and deletion
We do not maintain user accounts. We do not retain personal information on our servers beyond the temporary conversion processing and ordinary operational logs described in this policy. Files, settings, recent items, recent fonts, favorites, signatures, and results remain on your device unless you delete them or uninstall the App.
Files sent for cloud conversion are deleted from the conversion server after the conversion is completed. Text sent to third-party translation services is handled according to the respective provider’s policies. We do not keep a copy of that text on our servers.
12. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
13. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. If you have questions, contact cbedp4109@gmail.com.
