Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how QLD Fuel Now (“the App”) handles information when you use the iOS or Android application.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the App, we may process:
- Location data — with your permission, the App accesses your device location while in use to show nearby Queensland fuel stations and prices on the map.
- Motion-related data — certain map/location frameworks on the device may access motion APIs to improve map orientation and location accuracy. The App does not use this data to identify you.
- Usage data on your device — basic app function such as selected fuel type and map position stays on your device unless needed to load map or price content.
The App does not require an account and does not intentionally collect your name, email address, phone number, or payment details.
2. How we use information
- To display nearby fuel stations and prices on the map
- To centre the map near you when you choose “locate me”
- To provide navigation links you choose to open (for example Google Maps or Waze)
- To operate and improve core App features
3. Third-party services
The App uses third-party services that may process data as described in their own policies:
- Google Maps Platform — map display and related location services. Google Privacy Policy
- Fuel price data providers — station and price information is loaded from fuel-price data services over a secure connection (HTTPS).
- Apple / Google platforms — standard operating-system services for networking, location permission dialogs, and app distribution.
4. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Data may be processed by the third-party services above only as needed to provide map and price features you request.
5. Data retention
Location access happens on-device with your permission while you use the App. We do not operate a user account database for this App. If temporary technical logs are created by our hosting or data providers, they are retained only as needed for service operation and security.
6. Your choices
- You can deny or later revoke location permission in your device Settings. Some features (such as locating nearby stations) may then be limited.
- You can stop using the App at any time and uninstall it.
7. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. International users
The App is designed for use in Queensland, Australia. Third-party providers may process data in other countries subject to their policies and applicable law.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
